Reports in Spain are suggesting that there is a major meeting tonight (26th January 2009) of the 'powers that be' at Real Madrid.

Top of the agenda is deciding whether or not the club will try to sign Luis Antonio Valencia during this transfer window or wait until the summer.

Apparently the board is split with regards to this issue. They are aware that Steve Bruce and Mr Whelan will not budge on their price tag for one of the Premier League's hottest properties.

Some of the members feel that Valencia will be too costly whilst the 'executive powers' want to sign him immediately and see Valencia as a good investment.
