Noticed a score-line in today’s paper, King Lynn 11 Durham City 0 in the Unibond Premier League, a quick look at the table showed a sorry tale for last seasons Unibond Div1 champions. Played 17, Lost 17, Scored 10 & Against 88! so that’s an average of five goals conceded per game! However they have won a competitive game this season 1-0 at home at Arnott Stadium against Washington in Durham County Challenge Cup First Round (20.10.09) Pursuing the Durham forum the fans seem upbeat and their only gripes appear to be that the away programmes have information last seasons Durham squad in them. All the best to those truly loyal band of supporters especially the away fraternity for following the misfortunes of their club. (My teenage years were spent get hammered every week in the Wigan Saturday & Sunday Leagues so I can sympathise with their plight of getting slaughtered every game.) Relegation and back form whence they came is a formality but lets hope their Brazilesque kit helps 'em win a few games in the future, if only for their long suffering fans!
