Promise me you'll buck up Bernard. You missed him off the list of Scouse miscreants at the top of your report. I can't wait to see the codswallop in our favourite serial Latics haters next column.

Now I've been doing some proper whinging over the past month or so, but if we carry on with displays like that I'm going to have to shut-up.
It is a case of 'one swallow' at the moment because we've been here before so I'm not getting over-excited yet, BUT.....

What a fantastic performance from every one of the team last night. I use the word team because that's what they looked like, a team. Gone were the childish strops so prevelant of late, gone was the laclustre attitude and gone was the stupid substitutions.
Instead we had a pre-match group hug, we had Titus going to each of his fellow defenders before the second half and geeing them up, we had commitment, desire and ultimately success.

I thought Diame was outstanding last night, it was great to see a 19 year-old lad who was playing for Hamilton Accies last season rip the p*ss out of the England captain and a special mention for Paul Scharner who was hobbling round for the last 40 minutes but dug in when he could have so easily retired to the bench and upset the balance of the side. If you read this Bob, why has he not been offered a new contract?

Also great to see the press (except The Mail) asking why Liverpool were so bad last night instead of asking why they were soundly beaten by the better side. Nothing changes eh?

You do have to laugh at Chairman Dave though. We haven't heard a peep out of him recently, suddenly we get a superb win (well done to Martinez and all his players on one of the best performances I've seen for a long time), and there he is on the back page of the Obby the following day, telling us he instigated it all by offering the players a free holiday to Barbados if we stay up before the match.

"They were all absolutely delighted with that!"

You just couldn't make it up...

You just have to laugh don't you?

And now he's getting involved in things that do not concern him again. He loves the attention when things go right doesn't he? The silence is deafening when things get tough though.

It wasn't a holiday to Barbados that won that game, it was Martinez's tactics that were absolutely spot on. Let's hope that notorious 'next level' has just got underway!

I'm currently watching the game again on Liverpool's TV channel. We really did play well last night you know. You should hear the Liverpool bias though! LOL.

Nothing so far, not a peep out of him....

If he passes No Man's Land just before UpHolland

I'll keep you posted, but Saturday's column should be interesting.

If it is a swipe at Wigan, it'll mention the following in the column:

Liverpool unlucky
Crowd Size
Rugby League
State of the Pitch
Little Wigan
Clogs, Pies & Whippets

It'll not include:

Great Tactics
Played as a team
90 minutes of Pressure
Better Team in Wigan
Liverpool flatter to deceive

Can't believe Whelan was rambling on about Liverpool FC's plight.

Christ, it's nothing to do with you, Dave. Leave it!!!! leave it!!!!

As for Brian Reade. Typical koppite.

Not heard one person give us credit from their side. I have loads of them on my Facebook, from Skem, and not one has said "well played". All just moaned about how bad they are. Typical Koppites.

Just had a look and the only thing he mentions is that Whelan is correct in his assumption that Liverpool are in the crap
Not one mention of the match in three articles. Bottler.

At least he agrees with what is happening with Liverpool and is in general to football overall. 3 Man City Plays blow more money on a hotel in 1 night than it would have cost to rescue Chester City....& Liverpool are poor, crap & heading for rock bottom according to him....
